Every review published on NorwichWire.co.uk represents the honest, considered judgement of the assigned reviewer and the editorial team. We do not accept payment, favours or inducements in exchange for positive coverage, and no external party — whether a venue, promoter, publicist or advertiser — is permitted to influence the final assessment. Our aim is to provide readers with trustworthy, detailed and useful reviews that help them decide where to eat, what to see and how to spend their time across Norwich, Norfolk and the wider East Anglia region.
What Our Reviews Cover
Our reviewers draw on a range of experiences to produce balanced and informed assessments. Reviews may be based on:
- Venue visits and restaurant meals (paid for by the reviewer or the publication)
- Theatre performances, concerts and festival attendance
- Local events, community gatherings and public exhibitions
- Press access and review tickets provided by venues, organisers or agencies
- Publicly available experiences where no special access has been granted
Where a reviewer has a personal connection to a subject — for example, a prior working relationship or a family tie — this is disclosed to the editorial team and may result in the review being assigned to another writer. We are transparent about the basis of every review.
Disclosure and Transparency
Every review will carry a clear disclosure statement, placed prominently near the start or end of the article. The standard format is as follows:
“Disclosure: This review is based on [event visit/review ticket/venue visit/public booking]. Access was provided by [venue/organiser/agency] where applicable. The provider had no control over the final editorial assessment.”
Where a review ticket or press access has been supplied, this is stated explicitly. If the reviewer paid for their own experience, that is also noted. In all cases, the provider (venue, organiser, agency, PR firm) has no role in directing, editing or approving the content before publication. Our fact-checking and standards team, led by Daniel Keane, reviews every disclosure for accuracy.
Commercial Independence
NorwichWire.co.uk is funded through display advertising, affiliate links, commercial partnerships, sponsored content, newsletter sponsorships and content licensing — all of which are clearly labelled and kept entirely separate from editorial decision-making. Review coverage is never conditional on advertising spend or commercial relationships. For more detail on how we manage these boundaries, please see our Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure and Sponsored Content Policy.
Editorial Process
All reviews are assigned by the Managing Editor or Culture & Events Editor, written by a named reviewer, and edited by a member of the editorial team before publication. Standards and fact-checking procedures are applied to every review, including verification of factual claims, attribution of images and consistency with our broader editorial policies. The Editor-in-Chief retains final sign-off on any review that raises questions of balance or sensitivity. For full details of our editorial approach, see the Editorial Policy.
