What the briefing contains
The newsletter pulls together the week’s key coverage: Norwich City Council and Norfolk County Council decisions, planning applications, housing and transport stories from our Local Government Editor Peter Ashcroft; regional economy and business news from Business & Economy Correspondent Megan Weller; arts, festivals, theatre, music, food and community events curated by Culture & Events Editor Isabelle Morton; plus education, health, public services and long-form analysis from across the editorial team. You’ll also find links to our most-read articles, editor’s picks, and occasional feature round-ups on topics such as city centre trade, heritage, tourism and regional analysis.
Frequency and special editions
The newsletter is sent weekly, typically on Thursday mornings, to give you a weekend-ready overview of Norwich and Norfolk news. In addition, we issue special editions when major local developments or significant events break — for example, key council votes, major infrastructure announcements, elections, severe weather impacts or major cultural happenings. These special editions are clearly marked as such and are sent only when warranted, so your inbox is never flooded.
Who curates it
The newsletter is curated by the full editorial team under Editor-in-Chief William Hargreaves, who oversees editorial policy, corrections and content quality. Managing Editor Clara Benson coordinates the selection and scheduling, with each section editor contributing their specialist knowledge. Until our online signup form launches, you can subscribe by emailing info@norwichwire.co.uk with the subject line “Subscribe”. Please include your name and the email address you’d like the newsletter sent to. Once the signup form is live on this page, we’ll update the instructions and offer a direct subscription link. Your details will be handled in line with our privacy policy. We never share or sell our subscriber list, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every newsletter.
Sponsorship transparency
Newsletter sponsorships are clearly labelled. If a particular edition is sponsored by a local business, organisation or commercial partner, that sponsorship is disclosed at the top of the briefing.
